UK Imaging And Oncology Conference, July 4-6

Choice Health exhibits at the UKIO conference in Liverpool
and showcased its service portfolio, in particular, their tailored research clinical trial imaging support for the NHS and Clinical Trial Units (CTUs).

NHS Imaging departments across the UK are under immense pressure with yearly demand increases in clinical activity. It is therefore unsurprising that participation in clinical trial research is often seen as a lesser priority. Requests to participate are declining due to a mixture of personnel, capacity, regulatory, and logistics shortfalls.

As a result, NHS trusts are struggling to participate in drug development clinical trials, sadly with many of these research studies involving experimental investigational medicinal products with oncology applications that could really benefit patients. There is also the lost revenue implication from recruiting trial participants too and subsequent re-investment into research and innovation centres and Clinical Research Units (CTUs).

Pharma And Imaging Industry Intersection

The main similarity between the world of Pharma/CRO/Biotech and the world of Radiology/Imaging (two very different worlds) is that they are both independently vast. Like the intersection on a Venn diagram, Choice Health specialises in the niche area that intersects these two worlds with a proven track record in the Clinical Trial Imaging arena, working with global pharma, biotechnology, and contract research organisations (CROs) to deliver consulting, regulatory, and image analysis to power imaging endpoints in drug development.

The event itself (after a two-year absence) brought the zest of both clients and vendors back out again meeting face-to-face. Such a vital opportunity for the industry to come together, share learning, and showcase pipelines.

Vendors invested with some visually impressive booths with their latest technology on display, and a good supply of pic n mix – my favourite, and I don’t think I’m alone on that! And, what a fantastic city #Liverpool is to host!

Delighted to appear in RadMag too which you can read here ‘Choice Health exhibits at the UKIO conference’.
